Pickens County Primary Care is a primary care practice that is dedicated to patient-centered medicine for every stage of life. Our goal is to establish a trusting relationship and assist you in managing your healthcare holistically. For patients that require more complex care due to chronic conditions, having a primary care physician helps to reduce the risk of fragmented care and poor clinical outcomes. Our physicians will assist to coordinate care across a diverse array of multiple providers as well as a wide range of community support services. We provide care to infants and children, adolescents and adults for both acute and chronic health issues.

MEET OUR PROVIDERS

Julia L. BootheMD, MPH, FAAFP
Founder of Pickens County Primary Care and Medical Provider Partner for SMART Student Health clinics in Pickens County, Alabama.
Dr. Julia Boothe earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and earned her Medical Degree (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She completed her residency at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Boothe serves on the board for the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama. She also serves as assistant professor adjunct in the Department of Medical Education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham.
Dr. Boothe is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and she holds the highest honor among family physicians; the AAFP Degree of Fellow, an earned degree awarded to family physicians for distinguished service and continuing medical education.
Outside of patient care, Dr. Boothe enjoys reading, Alabama Football, and watching her daughters’ barrel race. She also enjoys serving and singing at Church of the Highlands.
Robert N. HoneaMD
Dr. Honea is a family medicine physician with Pickens County Primary Care. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed his residency at UAB/Selma Family Medicine Residency Program.
Brandy K. JunkinCRNP
Brandy Junkin is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with Pickens County Primary Care. She earned her ADN degree from Bevill State Community College and her BSN, MSN, and FNP from Samford University. Brandy has a background in emergency medicine, women’s health, and hematology/oncology.
Kacie WoodCRNP
Kacie Wood is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with Pickens County Primary Care. She earned her AND degree from Shelton State Community College and her MSN and FNP from Samford University. Kacie has a background in Women’s health and Family Medicine.
Darlene N. PutmanCRNP
Darlene Putman is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with Pickens County Primary Care. She earned her ADN degree from Bevill State Community College and her BSN, MSN, and FNP from Samford University.
Emily JonesCRNP
Emily Jones is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with Pickens County Primary Care. She earned her AND degree from Bevill State Community College and her BSN, MSN and FNP from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Emily has a background in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.
Randa CorleyCRNP
Randa Corley is a board certified Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with Pickens County Primary Care. She earned her ADN from Bevill State Community College, BSN from the University of Alabama, and MSN from the University of South Alabama. Randa has a background in internal medicine focusing on preventative care and chronic care management. Randa will also be directing our Chronic Care Management Program at PC3.
Erin ShirleyCRNP
Erin Shirley is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with PC3 and the SMART School Clinics. She earned her ADN degree from Shelton State Community College, BSN and MSN degrees from the University of North Alabama and DNP-FNP from Samford University. Erin has a background in neonatal intensive care, trauma intensive care and adult health.

Dr. John E. Brandon is a family medicine physician for the SMART school clinics. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program.
Cacyce M. FowlerCRNP
Cacyce Fowler is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for the SMART school clinics. She earned her BSN degree from Jacksonville State University and her MSN degree from Samford University.
Marcus StephensonCRNP
Marcus Stephenson is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for the SMART school clinics. He earned his BSN degree from Mississippi University for Women and his MSN degree from The University of Alabama.
Chelsie SkinnerCRNP
Chelsie Skinner is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with Pickens County Primary Care. She earned her BSN and MSN degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Laci JonesLCSW
Laci Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the SMART school clinics. She earned her BSW and MSW degrees from The University of Alabama.
Jillian BarnetteCRNP
Jill was born and raised in Tuscaloosa. She graduated with her Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Alabama in 2010. She completed a Dual-Specialty CRNP program, at the University of South Alabama in 2016, in both Adult Gerontology Acute Care and Family. Jill worked in primary care, urgent care, and Rheumatology prior to joining Pickens County Primary Care in January 2023.

She lives in Moundville with her husband, son, and daughter. Her hobbies include fitness, cooking, and cheering on the Crimson Tide. She loves summer time and being with her family.
